January cleanup report
This was another good turnout, with plenty of welcome new faces (including one rather famous one!), at the stretch running under Mapleton Road in Wandsworth. We are very grateful to Maggie, the warden at Mantle Court, for allowing us access via the gate to the river and for her patience when we blocked the entrance! Our new volunteers quickly picked up the work and some unusual objects!

And our celebrity volunteer, Matthew Wright, also quickly got stuck in.

Many hands made light work and the stretch was quickly cleaned and will be ready to receive the trout released as part of our Trout in the Classroom project in March.
Then Matthew got down to work and interviewed Gill for the programme he presents on BBC1, Inside Out, which is featuring a piece on the River Wandle in March.
