25 July: Time to get serious!
With the river newly narrowed it was time for the serious work to begin.
The first batch of gravel was delivered at 8am:
A swift flick of the stanley knife and off we go!
The gravel was distributed to give riffles, pools, bars and runs producing a variety of habitat areas for fish to spawn, feed, rest and shelter.
Downstream, deep sediments were excavated and placed behind the faggot bundles along with tree brashings and logs.
The new bank starts to take shape:
